Focus
Group.
Focus
Groups are randomly picked groups of students from each grade. There are 6 of
them in groups A or B, and altogether 12 from each grade. Dominik, who was also
picked for the focus group, answered a couple questions about it.
Focus
groups are aimed at developing the school system by asking students’ opinions. It
looks like the My Voice survey interview, but only orally. It is led by Mr.
Ferris and Mrs. Keast, MBI coordinators. From the beginning students were
divided into 2 groups, A and B. All in all, it took about half an hour.
Students’ opinions are very important to
school. It helps to improve the school atmosphere, by figuring out what exactly
bothers students and what needs to be changed, e.g. lockers, or to do more some
fun stuff, like lock-ins, etc. However, considering all students’ points of
view, you have to be fair and wise in making decisions.
