Reporting
on FCCLA
There
is a group in the High School. A group under Mrs. Cable. An intellectual group
of students. It’s called FCCLA.
FCCLA
stands for Family, Career and Community Leaders of America. FCCLA is a non-profit organization that
works with community service. According to www.fcclainc.org, it was formed in
Chicago on June 11th, 1945. As of the 2011 National Leadership
Conference, FCCLA had 200,000 members in nearly 7,000 chapters across all 50
states.
In
our school, members of FCCLA are tight knit and come together as a group. The
group is advised by Mrs. Cable. The president of the group is Kaylie Durglo.
Her VP is Courtney Heath. The secretary of the group is Kayla Billette, while
Mrs. Cable keeps track of the money the group earns, with Robbie Erickson's help.
This
year, so far, FCCLA has played host to the Homecoming Dance, as it does every
year. I’m sure everyone who attended the dance this year would agree that it
was a great dance and everyone had a lot of fun this year.
FCCLA
hasn’t planned much yet this year, save for the dance, but soon, FCCLA will
have more events organized and more fundraising done.
