Coach Anderson Comments on Homecoming (pregame) by Kayla Billette

Coach Anderson Comments on Homecoming

Every year, the students all wait for the exciting week that occurs once every year. This week is Homecoming Week, and the coaches are just as excited for this week as the students are.
Coach Anderson, also known as Mrs. Anderson, is awaiting Homecoming with anticipation. Her favorite thing about the week itself is seeing the classes as a whole coming together. It causes students who normally wouldn’t work together to cooperate as a team, and she likes to see that within the different classes.
Coach Anderson believes the homecoming game feels different from the rest of the games in the season. The game for homecoming brings in more people and more support for the team, consequently bringing more excitement overall, but also more pressure.
Anderson’s favorite homecoming game from past years was actually last year. Homecoming took place on a Tuesday last year against Arlee. They had a close game and pulled out a win against Arlee, but that’s not why it’s her favorite game. It’s her favorite game because they had the “No One Fights Alone” picture taken with Coach Rice. She loved seeing the community come together to support Coach Rice in his most troubled hour.
Coach Anderson has a young team this year. So far, it’s been interesting for her because they haven’t played a lot together. She says that her team is very talented but is still learning how each other works, and how to bring their skills together into a whole. As far as the homecoming game to come this year, she has high hopes. She believes that her team should be able to beat Bigfork and should be able to pull out a victory. Her biggest worry right now is the girls keeping their focus on the court, especially with the pressure of Homecoming game.
Anderson’s team will play Bigfork at 7:00 pm on Thursday, the 26th, for Homecoming.
