The Classes Compete for the Spirit Bone by Dominik Stallings

THE CLASSES COMPETE FOR THE SPIRIT BONE

On Homecoming Week every day there are competitions for each class. When a class wins enough competitions, it is awarded with the Spirit Bone, a blue bone, about one foot long. Everyday there is a dress up; each day gets crazier with different costumes and new activities to do. The Spirit Bone is awarded at the end of week, at half time of the football game.
The Spirit Bone is presented to the class which best represents the integrity of the St. Ignatius High School. Last year the sophomores won the Spirit Bone. The Spirit Bone is a good example of how a small town community should work. It demonstrates how a high school can be supportive and fun for the students. The School Motto:
Demonstrate Integrity,
Achieve Excellence,
Work Hard,
Gain Respect,
Share Responsibility,
The competition is good motivation for working toward a nicer school.
