When Camden Jenkins came to Town by Kayla Billette

When Camden Jenkins Came To Town

Legend tells of a man who recently moved to Mission. Nobody knows where he’s from or how he came to be here, only that he resides in Mrs. Keast’s room day by day. His name is Camden Jenkins.
Camden Jenkins was born on May 22nd, 1986, in Anchorage, Alaska,  just north of Canada, ay? The day he was born, a moose ran about in the parking lot. His parents joked that instead of the stork, a moose brought him. He has the pleasure of being an only child and doesn't really have immediate family. He is very close to his god parents who live in New Mexico. He lived in Avon, Montana, for a while before finally making the move here.
Camden is a student teacher and was originally put in Mission for a student education program. They put him here because of his knowledge in Native American studies. At first, he didn't seem so sure of the idea. “I’m actually enjoying Mission.” he said. “What appeals to me are the students. How friendly and positive and welcoming they've been.” He says that the experience of it all has been much better than he thought it would be. The students have definitely given him a warm welcome and he loves how involved the student body seems with everything they do.
Camden Jenkins enjoys his job here, much more than he could have hoped for. He especially enjoys working with the students. He loves to see how they learn, and learn right along with them. His hobbies include table top games, such as board games and role-playing games. He has an amazing imagination and loves to use it to its full potential.
Camden Jenkins isn't just a student teacher. He also likes to travel. He has been to Ecuador, in South America. While there, he went to the Galapagos Islands where he swam with animals such as sea lions and penguins. He has also been to Rome. While he was there, “Pirates of the Caribbean 3” was in theaters and he watched it while in Rome.
Camden Jenkins may be new here, but he’s definitely no stranger. The students and staff have done a wonderful job in welcoming the new student teacher. You can tell that Mr. Jenkins feels welcome in Mission by everybody and is definitely happy he was sent here. Hopefully, Camden will be making his stay worthwhile.
